omg omg this is perfect from beginning to end, thank you so much for writing it! i like the implication that them figuring out they're in the Bad Place doesn't mean his plan has gone off the rails, because he always wanted this moment of reveal, again and again. but ooouuuch, he nailed all of their flaws really accurately, this is so sad.
i wonder what happens after they forget - do they go back to the start of Hamlet having learned nothing, or do they wake up newly dead again? so many possibilities! (are hamlet and ophelia and horatio demons? or do they just end up in some different Bad Place for proper tragic heroes?)
and then the punchline! gosh, i love your writing.
