aaahhh, oh my goodness, i'm covering my face with my hands, thank you so so much!
i feel like osric and rosencrantz have a lot in common, the way they want to make everyone happy so they can be accepted -- but rosencrantz does it by smiling and trying not to make waves, and osric does it by actively hyping up the powerful and influential people around him. but then they can relax around each other, and there's crafts and friendship! (you can thank my gf for pairing rosencrantz with polonius; i asked for a random character who wasn't hamlet)
and i knoooow, they have a cool dynamic and i almost felt bad when i had to reveal that it wasn't the real thing. (and i wrote that bit as i was walking by a cemetery near my apartment, which felt appropriate) though actually i dropped in little hints, or thought about where demon-hamlet was coming from when choosing dialogue.
eeeeee, i love your babbling, thank you, thank you! i hadn't thought of how sitcom-ish the good place is, or how it turns that all on its head, but you're super right! and now i'm thinking of how you'd do the afterlife as a drama/procedural, because those need to go to higher places than slice of life does and there tends to be some Big Bad pulling all the strings, and with each season finale it gets bigger and bigger until it stretches the bounds of believability (look, look, a horse with an arrow in its head! it must have been mistaken for a deer!) but ahhhh, i'm so glad i got it to be the afterlife as fanfic, i love that phrasing. 'one way or another you always have to reckon with canon' it's so truuue! and how even if you defy the story that's been written for you, on some level you're still referencing it. you follow unfortunate and hopefully-unintentional implications to their logical conclusions and beyond to make a Point, or you give everyone a happy ending while avoiding the text in the corner of your eye.

thank you again!
