Supernatural 1.10 and 1.11 Reaction Post

Hopefully I'll be done with season one by the end of the day.

Asylum was pretty scary and I loved that the spirits weren't attacking, they were just communicating. Also, the things these boys always say when they're possessed or angry is so sad and brotherly. And Sam and Dean talking in unison just warms the cockles of my heart.

And that town in Scarecrow, holy shit! As soon as I saw the guy on the cross I started screaming "Kobold, it's a kobold, oh my god!" Because that town is so much like the one in the "My Ainsel" section from American Gods. It's perfect, and all the other towns around it are becoming ghost towns, but not this one. That scene where they're all standing around with the umbrellas sent shivers down my spine

And then Sam stopping the car and heading to California on his own? *wibble* So sad, but so necessary for both of them. And it's like they're daring each other to stick together, because neither of them really want to go their separate ways. God, my boys are so codependent. And Sam watches until the car is completely out of sight. And they come back for each other, they always do, because when it's your brother and he's all you have left, you just can't stay away.

And that May girl is some kind of creepy vampire person. Something tells me this isn't the last I'll see of her. Please tell me I'm right.

Yeah, there was a girl hitchhiking to California that Sam met. At the very last scene she told the guy giving her a ride to pull over and then slit his throat. I'm fairly certain that was her name, but it's a bit confusing if you don't recall her, because you know every single SPN girl ever, almost. Am I completely wrong, then?

Oh, her. That's Meg. Not her real name, but we don't know her real name, and she consistently answers to Meg.

The codependency gets even better worse in the later episodes and they're so damn brotherly it almost hurts (in a good way). Gotta love the first two seasons! :D I'm curious what you'll say about Faith.

Oh their brotherhood hurts so good, I love it. Because even though they shy away from each other when it comes to emotions, you can tell they care if it's important enough. Like when Dean is worried about Sam and his visions in Bloody Mary.

I just saw Faith and it makes me want to cry. Because Dean was in the hospital pretending to laugh in the face of death, and Sammy's most logical response is to take him to a faith healer. They are so so close to each other here and it's beautiful. "God save us from half the people who think they're doing God's work" I love love love that they brought up these theological issues, because I can really get into that. Um, yeah, I think I've rambled on enough about that episode.

God, I love those two so much. Is it wrong that I've started thinking of them as "my boys"?

Yes, that's what I love about them, too. Sam and especially Dean are very Manly Men, but when it comes down to it they have so many emotions bubbling beneath the surface. Seeing so much devotion and love is fascinating and heart-breaking at the same time.

Glad to hear you enjoyed Faith. :D It's one of my favourite episodes. I loved how Dean tried to shrug off his nearing death and be all brave for Sam.

I think I know what you mean. They just grow on you, with each episode a little bit more.
